A vocational training was organized for ‘Sankalp’ students by class XI A under the cleanliness drive. Under this programme, the students were explained that during this festive season they can clean articles made up of silver, at home . A day before, these students were asked to bring silver articles from home.
An activity was demonstrated for the same: The bottom of the pan was lined with aluminum foil. Then the silver objects were placed on top of the aluminum foil and ensured that the silver touched the aluminum. Water was then heated to a boil. To the hot water, about two spoons of baking soda was added. Almost immediately, the tarnish began to disappear. Students were happy to observe this fast cleaning. Thereafter they cleaned many silver articles themselves, like bangles, anklets, idols and so on.
